Breeding Using Heavy Ion Beams to Obtain Non-swimmable Mutants


Normal properties except for swimming ability. Sink quickly due to non-swimming, expected to simplify recovery. (Joint research with RIKEN Center for Sustainable Resource Science)

By creating a non-swimming mutant, we were able to capture
the cell division process over a period of more than two hours.
